He has started losing his memory of his earlier life and is currently suffering from cancer. However, he really wanted to emphasize the importance of his family in his life. While his children were growing up, he felt really distant from them, with his wife taking care of them most of the time. As he grew older, he still sensed the gap, but retirement helped him build bridges he had not built before. He made a comfortable living when he was employed, but not enough to send his child to one of the best colleges in the country, which remains one of his biggest regrets. He loves the amount of time retirement has given him to spend with his family.
