I was born in India in 1948 and have gone on to create a career as an electrical engineer. Working has been a significant experience in my life because it enabled me to put my technical skills to work and earn money through the job that I have had in the public sector. Work has been an essential part of my life and it helped me earn money to sustain myself and my family.
I have since retired from paid work and currently receive a pension in India. Retirement has brought about a new phase in my life where pension becomes an important source of income in my post-working years. This experience illustrates the process of transitioning from employment-based income sources to retirement.
Through my experience, I have realized the need to have a good financial standing in old age. Pension becomes an important source of income when one retires from employment; hence, working and retirement become a significant part of people's lives.
