I started working when I was 21 years old. Before that my father used to earn working in a small factory and supported our family of 7 people. Money was really tight at that time. We did not have enough money to even spend on food. Most days our family survived on one roti per person paired with some oil and salt. I had only studied till the 10th grade and that too I failed. My family did not have enough money to support all four kids. My younger sister was very fond of studying and dancing at that time so my parents let her continue her education but the rest of the boys had to find jobs. My younger brother and I had no experience and we were not educated so finding a job was difficult in the beginning but there was an opening for staff at a hotel so I joined and worked for almost 8 years along with my brother. I was just a member of the staff so I used to serve the customers and handle billing and day to day operations. That job was one of the best because I used to get good money and a lot of free food as well. But then the hotel shut down because of a situation with the owner. Then for 2 years I was mostly unemployed but I did some odd jobs in between. Later one of our relatives who was living in Pune at the time advised me and my brother to come to Pune and so we did. In Pune we joined as employees at an Indian Oil petroleum and my job was to fill petrol into vehicles and collect cash from customers. I worked there till 2020 but then I had an operation of my legs because of my alcohol consumption. This job required me to constantly be on my feet and because of the operation I could not do that anymore and so I quit. After a few months, one of our family friends was buying a petrol pump and so I partnered with them to manage it and currently I am doing that.
