My Life, Work and Family - Nagappa Kattimani
My name is Nagappa Kattimani. I live in Kalaburagi, Karnataka, India. I have four sons and three daughters. One of my sons and three of my daughters are married. My family is an important part of my life.
Earlier in my life, I worked in a textile mill. When I first started working there, my income was around ₹500 to ₹1,000. Over the years, my income increased, and towards the end of my employment, I was earning around ₹5,000. I continued working in the mill until 2002, when I had to leave because the mill closed.
Along with my job at the textile mill, I also ran my own business called Anjaneya Publicity, providing services for events. Through this business, I arranged lights, sound systems, speakers, advertisements, and other services for events. This work was another source of income for me.
After the textile mill closed, I continued running my own business. One of my sons helps me manage the business. My other sons work in different fields, including as a school peon, a hospital assistant and a graphic design printing shop. When we have a lot of work or large events to manage, my sons sometimes help with the business as well.
I have continued with my business after leaving the mill, and my family members help whenever necessary. My work has been an important part of my life, and I have continued doing what I can through my business.
