He was born in a small village in Uttar Pradesh. His father was a farmer, and they mostly depended on rain for their crops to survive because they never had much money to water them themselves. He helped his father in the fields during his holidays and studied hard and later moved to Delhi and got a job.
It was not a very high-paying job, but it gave him a steady income. He made his daughters study so that they could be independent on their own and not be a burden on him.
