“I started teaching small children in Warangal right after college, and I walked to school every day. After I got married, we moved to Hyderabad. When my son and daughter were born, I stayed home to look after them. When they started school, I took the government teacher exam and passed. I taught in a government school for 30 years, and many of my students still visit me. I retired in 2018, at 60. Now I get a pension of about 28,000 rupees a month, and I live with my husband.”
