Dr Habeeb started his profession as a doctor in 1976, setting up his own clinic in Chennai. During his prime years of youth, he saved judiciously and invested in property and other assets, which fetched him adequate rental income. This supplemented his clinical income and gave him a comfortable life, and it still supports him today.
Though he is past the standard retirement age, he still practices at his clinic at his own pace. Dr Habeeb chooses to work at 76 as he says that his profession keeps him physically and mentally fit. It gives him a sense of satisfaction and fulfilment, which he wouldn't get if he retired.
Apart from his profession as a doctor, he is engaged in numerous social services and spiritual (religious) activities. He is a writer and orator. He continues to write articles and books and gives lectures and interviews frequently. He has written 60+ books to date.
