I actively participated in various activities during my career and was eventually promoted to the position of Leader. I worked very hard throughout my career and also served as a union leader, raising workers’ demands and helping many of my fellow workers. Supporting them and standing up for their rights was an important part of my journey.
As my retirement approached, I started thinking about pursuing acting as a second career. I always looked up to Sadashiv Amrapurkar as my inspiration. He came from a small rural place and went on to achieve great success in the film industry. I often thought to myself, if someone from such a small place could become such a successful actor, why couldn't I do the same, especially when I come from a big city like Pune?
In my search for opportunities, I connected with several people involved in the film industry. One of my colleagues and I once travelled to Satara, where a film was being shot. There, I met a director who advised me to learn the basics of acting and understand its fundamental principles.
I took his advice seriously and enrolled in a basic acting course in Pune. Through the course, I learned the fundamentals of acting. After completing it, I began visiting shooting locations to observe actors, understand their performances, and learn from their work.
Eventually, I got an opportunity to act in a small role. It was just the beginning, but I was happy to take that first step. The journey was not easy. I struggled to find roles and faced many difficulties. I was also scammed several times, but I learned from those experiences and never stopped trying.
Gradually, I started getting more opportunities in films and advertisements. I got a breakthrough with the movie Har Har Mahadev, after which people began approaching me for acting roles. I also appeared in films such as Mulshi Pattern 2, Eetha and Khashaba. These were small roles, but each one was meaningful to me because I had worked hard to earn those opportunities.
Over the years, I have also received several awards for my work, which has made me proud of my journey and encouraged me to continue pursuing acting. I am also a member of the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Chitrapat Mahamandal, an organization associated with the Marathi film industry. Being part of this organization is another meaningful aspect of my journey as an actor.
My journey has also included personal challenges. I met with an accident and had to focus on my recovery. More recently, in March 2026, I suffered paralysis. However, I recovered within a few days and remained determined to continue my work. I have recently completed a film shoot after recovering from this difficult experience.
Looking back, I feel that the most important thing is to never lose hope. Age, setbacks, failures, and difficult circumstances should not stop us from pursuing what we love. We should keep working, learning, and trying. My life has taught me that hard work, persistence, and the courage to continue can help us move forward, even when the journey is difficult.
I want everyone to remember one thing: never give up on yourself. Keep doing your work and putting in your best effort. There will be struggles along the way, but we should never stop trying. I believe that hard work and perseverance eventually bring their own rewards.
