After completing my 12th grade, I moved from Uttar Pradesh to Mumbai and started helping my father with his flower business. While working with him, I also looked for a job, including opportunities as a security guard and in other positions. I eventually received a job offer, but I did not accept it because it required night-shift duty.
As I continued working with my father, I learned how the flower market operates, how to sell flowers, negotiate with customers, and understand changes in demand and prices. I got married in Mumbai and settled here, and I wanted to establish a stable livelihood to support my family. Since I already had experience in the flower business, I decided to continue this work by starting my own small flower shop.
I sell flowers for festivals, religious ceremonies, and everyday pooja rituals. My income depends on daily sales, so earnings vary depending on customer demand and the season. Festivals are often busier, while other days can bring fewer sales. Running the shop requires regular effort, understanding the market, and maintaining good relationships with customers. Although the income is not always consistent, this business allows me to earn a living independently and support my household. The experience I gained from working with my father helped me build my own livelihood and settle in Mumbai.
