Mónica Decile

Argentina

In 1974, I qualified as a national broadcaster at ISER (Higher Institute of Radio Education). I started at Radio Nacional, but I also had to hold other jobs—such as working as a secretary in various sectors—because my salary wasn't enough to live on. During the dictatorship in Argentina (between 1976 and 1983), I left radio and continued with my other jobs. At that time, I was the sole provider for my son, who was born in 1974. With the return of democracy, I returned to Radio Belgrano, Radio Nacional, and Radio Del Plata. I worked in the radio news service, which is where I began practicing journalism. I also ventured into print media, contributing to various magazines, as well as working in television.

Many years later, at age 47, I studied social psychology and subsequently completed a postgraduate degree. I also qualified as a psychodramatist.

I am still studying.
